I Want To Become Part of the Christian Church of Santa Clara Music Ministry
Our Music Ministry has many different areas that you can get involved in. There are Vocals, Instrumentals, Sound and Visual Support
Worship Group:
This is the worship vocal team and musicians that leads the Worship Service, as we call it, Blended . . . consisting of traditional hymns, praise choruses and Contemporary Music (such that you would find on K-LOV Radio). Hymns that are found in most hymnals and praise choruses, many that are Maranatha! plus Contemporary artists like Chris Tomlin, Matt Redman, Brian Doerksen, Bebo Norman, Tim Hughes, Newsboys, Rebecca St. James, and many more. The group meets on Wednesday's at 7:00 PM to sing through the songs for the upcoming Sunday. At this time, the vocal teams will be scheduled for every 3rd month, singing for the entire month (there are two teams of two and one team of three). The leader is Pastor Chuck Fairbrother (on bass) and your accompanists are Pat Fisher - Organ; Trudy Fairbrother - Piano; Dale Parenzin - Guitar. Special Music:
Special Music is usually in the form of vocals. You will need to arrange with Pat Fisher to do Special Music. Accompaniment can be provided with either your music or music the church has in its library; or accompaniment can be in the form of cassette tape or CD. You can also accompany yourself. Special Music is determined far in advance to allow you, the vocalist, to prepare; and to properly insert it into the Service. If this sounds like an area you would be interested in, then click here.
Sound:
People to operate sound is required at any Services (Sunday or Special events). To operate sound you will need to learn the operation of the sound board as well as be present for weekday evening rehearsals that coincide with the Service you will be operating sound for. The Faithful Four Quartet meets on Thursday's from 6:30 - 7:30 PM. People operating sound for the Quartet will be required to be present for the Thursday rehearsals. Training will be provided. The Worship Service, meets on Thursday's from 7:30 - 8:30 PM. People operating sound for the Worship Service will be required to be present for both the Worship Team practice AND Quartet practice, 6:30 - 8:30 PM. Visual:
People are needed to operate PowerPoint slides for each Service. There is little experience required to operate, but if you do have experience operating PowerPoint and especially creating PowerPoint slides, you could help relieve Dale Parenzin for creation and/or organization of each Service. Preparation for each Sunday requires that all slides be put together on a computer for the Service. Needed preparation can be in the form of creation of slides at home, then emailing them to Dale Parenzin (or whoever is putting the current Sunday Service together) for their inclusion into the Service. Preferably it would be helpful to attend rehearsals if you are operating the PowerPoint, so that there will be consistency in the slide movements as you learn the songs. Rehearsals also act as editing rehearsals for PowerPoint (e.g., adding or removing a chorus or verse). If this sounds like an area you would be interested in, then click here.
Musician:
Musicians are used in our Service are instruments that will work well with contemporary worship as well as with the more traditional music. Although some are more particularly suited to a specific music format, there is no hard rule as to what instrument can play in the Service. The decision is up to Chuck Fairbrother, Dale Parenzin and Pat fisher. They will determine if the instrument "blend" will add to the Worship Service.
