Kangmi Lee McMillian grew up in this church. She was a major player in our youth programs. She was part of the "Friends Forever" tour, was involved in many of the mission trips supported by the Field Missionary Fund, and an active servant in other areas of the church. She went off to Pacific Christian College (now Hope International University) in Fullerton, CA. There she studied Multi-Cultural Studies in preparation to become a missionary. Kangmi has wanted to be a missionary since she was about 12 years old.
Eric and Kangmi (Mimi) met while they were in Fullerton. Eric was in the area working on his degree in ministry with Victory Campus Ministries. They both have a passion for international ministry. After they were married they went to Hawaii in Campus Ministry. The University of Hawaii has a large international student population and they were able to work closely with all the students. Since they moved to North Carolina they have continued to work in Campus Ministry.
With three young boys and a new baby girl at home, Mimi has been working with women in the neighborhood and with women students on a one-on-one ministry. Eric is on campus of North Carolina University every day. They desire to grow in ministry and move on to international ministry when the children are a little older.
Their finances have been diminishing over the past two years. It is difficult to carry on ministry when the funding is not there. Eric and Mimi have been struggling with what the Lord has for them. The possibility of expanding their ministry is being challenged by this situation. They are using their gifts to reach out to college age students and preparing to minister to children. They need prayer for direction, finances, moral support, and communication.
