Jim, Cheryl, Peter, and Rachael Green first came to Christian Church of Santa Clara in about 1991 to tell us about the ministry they were preparing to start in Chile. The church fell in love with this family and we have been supporting their ministry they started ever since. It has changed, grown, and been successful in expanding God's kingdom in Chile and other parts of the world. The little church they planted in Maipu is now a sending church with missionaries of their own. They have first hand experience of the need for moral support. When you are doing a good thing for the Kingdom, you are open to attack.
Jim and Cheryl are now living in Palmdale and return to Chile once or twice a year to encourage and support the ministry. They have brought a pastor and his family from Maipu to lead the Spanish ministry outreach in Palmdale. The program has been successful since it's beginning in September 2006. They are very busy, very involved people and are seemingly tireless.
Jim and Cheryl have the same challenge of being workaholics as their counterparts in Chile. They are both teachers at Hillcrest Christian School in Granada Hills. Jim and Cheryl are both involved in the administration of Consour Christian Ministries, Jim is a Senior Pastor at First Christian Church of Palmdale and Cheryl teaches a Sunday School class. Jim had cancer about two years ago, but has been cancer free since the end of his treatment. He praises God for this every day.
They both love God, each other, their family, and sharing the Gospel with everyone. They can use prayer for strength in all that they do, God's direction for the ministry and proposed Christian School for Maipu, Chile. They need additional financing for the school project. The ministry in Chile is growing and is pretty much self sufficient. The pastor there need prayer, also. Juan Carlos and Hugo are still leading the church and coordinating the establishment of a Christian School.
